Manchester United experienced a difficult 2024/25 season, finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing in the Europa League final. With new coach Rúben Amorim at the helm, the club is looking to make a fresh start by reshaping the squad. As part of this process, four players have been excluded from the upcoming preseason tour in the United States.

The players who will not be joining the team on the tour are Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho. Rashford, who has been on loan at Aston Villa, has been effective on the field but does not fit into Amorim’s plans for the future. There are rumors of him potentially moving to clubs like Newcastle, Barcelona, or Inter. Antony, who is currently on loan at Betis, has shown a return to form, but his permanent move to Manchester United may be too costly. Sancho, who has been on loan at Chelsea, is also in search of a new club, with multiple interested suitors. Garnacho had a successful season but had a falling out with his previous manager. His high current value of €80 million could make finding a new team challenging.

The exclusion of these four players from the US tour indicates Manchester United’s commitment to restructuring the team under Amorim’s leadership. As the club prepares for the upcoming season, these players face uncertain futures and the possibility of finding new homes in the transfer market. Amorim’s vision for the team’s future is clear, and he is taking steps to build a squad that aligns with his strategies and goals.
