A shocking incident occurred in Staten Island when a mailman allegedly attacked his colleague with a pocket knife in an apartment. The 26-year-old woman was brutally stabbed by her co-worker during an argument inside the Dongan Hills apartment. The assailant, wearing a USPS jacket, fled the scene in a black BMW sedan after the attack.
The off-duty postal workers were involved in the violent altercation on the fifth floor of the apartment building near Dongan Hills Avenue and Richmond Road. The woman managed to seek help from a neighbor who called 911, leading to the arrival of the police at the scene.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the victim in the lobby with multiple stab wounds on her chest, stomach, arm, and thigh, with a trail of blood leading to her apartment. She was promptly taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where she was reported to be in stable condition.
The woman identified her attacker as a colleague from their workplace at a post office in lower Manhattan. However, the suspect remains at large as authorities continue their search to apprehend him.
The New York Post reached out to USPS for a statement regarding the incident but has yet to receive a response. Additional reporting on the case was provided by Tina Moore.
This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers that can arise in any workplace, even in seemingly routine environments like a post office. The investigation into the attack is ongoing as authorities work to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure the safety of postal workers and the community.
