Ghana’s President-elect, John Mahama, Outlines Plans for New Term

Ghana’s President-elect, John Mahama, has unveiled his vision for his upcoming term, focusing on economic revitalization and job creation. In a recent interview with VOA, Mahama highlighted the significance of stabilizing the economy, reducing inflation, and fostering sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.

Mahama expressed concerns about previous job creation initiatives such as NABCO and emphasized the crucial role of private sector growth in driving job creation. He emphasized the need to enhance basic education infrastructure and reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the Free Senior High School program.

One of the key issues Mahama addressed was the illegal small-scale mining crisis in Ghana. He pledged to protect forest reserves, clean up polluted rivers, and explore sustainable mining practices. Mahama’s administration plans to leverage technological solutions to address mining challenges, ensuring economic growth while preserving the environment.

Overall, Mahama’s agenda for his new term is centered around promoting economic growth, creating sustainable jobs, and addressing critical issues such as education and environmental conservation.
