Justice Minister Mmamaloku Kubayi has recently found herself embroiled in controversy, with allegations swirling that she is part of a plot to prevent party deputy president Paul Matsatile from standing in the ANC’s 2027 elective conference. However, Kubayi has vehemently denied these claims, stating that there is no truth to the rumors and that she remains committed to upholding the principles of democracy within the party.

The accusations against Kubayi have sparked a debate within the ANC, with some members questioning the motives behind the alleged plot. Supporters of Matsatile have rallied behind him, expressing their belief that he has the right to contest the upcoming conference and should not be sidelined by internal politics. On the other hand, Kubayi’s supporters have defended her integrity, insisting that she is focused on serving the best interests of the party as a whole.

In light of these developments, the ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has called for calm and unity within the party, urging members to put aside personal differences and work together towards a common goal. Party president Cyril Ramaphosa has also weighed in on the matter, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in all party affairs.

Meanwhile, the Economic Transformations Committee, led by Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of key economic policies within the party. The committee’s mandate includes addressing issues related to job creation, economic growth, and social development, with a focus on promoting inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.

In addition to Kubayi and Ntshavheni, other prominent ANC members such as Maropene Ramokgopa, Phophi Ramathuba, and Zuko Godlimpi have been actively involved in shaping the party’s agenda and priorities. The National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) have also been instrumental in ensuring that the party operates in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

As the ANC prepares for the upcoming elective conference, all eyes will be on how the party navigates the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. With a renewed focus on unity, accountability, and good governance, the ANC is poised to emerge stronger and more resilient in the face of internal and external pressures.
