Kenyan forward Vincent Oburu is set to make a move to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Richards Bay in the upcoming month. The 27-year-old player is expected to sign a one-and-a-half-year deal with the option for an extension, following a disappointing spell at Zesco United.
Oburu, who joined Zesco United from Kenyan side AFC Leopards at the age of 24, failed to meet the expectations set for him during his time at the club. After a loan spell at Napsa Stars last season, he returned to Zesco United in August but struggled to secure playing time.
The talented forward will be joining his compatriot Ian Otieno at Richards Bay. Otieno, a goalkeeper, made the move to Richards Bay from Zesco United as a free agent last season. Prior to his time at Zesco United, Otieno also featured for Red Arrows in Zambia.
The addition of Oburu to the Richards Bay squad adds depth and quality to the team’s attacking options. With his experience and skill on the field, Oburu has the potential to make a significant impact at the South African club.
Overall, the move to Richards Bay presents a new opportunity for Vincent Oburu to showcase his talent and make a mark in the South African PSL. Fans will be eagerly awaiting his debut for the club and hoping to see him shine on the pitch.
