The Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup is currently underway in Outjo, Kunene region, with eight regions advancing to the quarter finals. Karas, Otjozondjupa, Kunene, Omusati, Oshana, Kavango East, Zambezi, and Kavango West have all secured their spots in the next round of the tournament, which started on Friday, 18 April and will conclude on 21 April 2025.
In Group A, Karas Region kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Oshikoto before defeating Zambezi 4-1. They continued their winning streak by beating Hardap 2-0 in their final group stage match. Zambezi secured their spot in the quarter finals as the best runner-up in the group after narrowly defeating Hardap 1-0 and drawing 3-3 with Oshikoto.
Moving on to Group B, Kunene maintained an unbeaten record by drawing 1-1 with Ohangwena and defeating Khomas 2-0. The host region then secured victories against Omaheke and Otjozondjupa, winning both matches 1-0. Oshana also had a strong showing in the group stage, claiming wins against Khomas (3-2) and Ohangwena (4-0), but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Kunene.
In Group C, defending champions Omusati drew 1-1 with Kavango East before defeating Erongo 1-0. Kavango East secured their spot in the quarter finals by defeating Erongo 2-0. Group D saw Kavango West and Omaheke advancing to the next round after securing a stalemate and defeating Otjozondjupa 1-0. Otjozondjupa also managed a 1-0 victory over Omaheke but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Kavango West.
