Three years ago, K.O was the most nominated artist at the Metro FM awards with seven nods but unfortunately, he walked away empty-handed. However, in a turn of events, the rapper finally clinched a Metro FM award in his home province of Mpumalanga, being named the Best Hip-Hop artist.

In an interview with The Citizen, K.O expressed his gratitude for winning the award in his province, describing it as a beautiful moment. “The fact that it’s in my province and apparently this is the last Metro FM awards in Mpumalanga is a beautiful moment,” he shared.

The rapper, whose real name is Ntokozo Mdluli, hails from Mpumalanga, making this win even more special for him. He mentioned that having his family present at the event, especially those who traveled from the far east of the province to witness the moment, was incredibly encouraging for him.

The Metro FM awards, themed “Crowning Greatness,” took place at Mpumalanga’s Mbombela stadium for the final year after being hosted in the province for three years. This win not only signifies a professional achievement for K.O but also holds sentimental value due to the connection to his roots and the support of his family.

Three years ago, K.O’s seven nominations at the Metro FM awards ended in disappointment as he left empty-handed. However, perseverance and dedication paid off as he finally secured a well-deserved award in his home province. This moment not only marks a career milestone but also highlights the importance of staying true to one’s roots and celebrating success with loved ones.
