Justin Baldoni is escalating his legal battle with publicist Stephanie Jones, the woman his lawyer accuses of initiating the controversy involving Baldoni and Blake Lively.
Justin’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has filed an amended set of counterclaims against Stephanie in response to her legal team’s appearance on “Extra” to discuss their side of the ongoing lawsuits.
Freedman criticized Jones in a statement to TMZ, stating, “In light of new evidence emerging almost daily, it has become necessary to revise our counterclaims against Stephanie Jones and Jonesworks. It comes as no surprise that Ms. Jones would instruct her legal team to misrepresent the circumstances surrounding the ‘subpoena’ and Vanzan lawsuit.”
Justin’s lawyer continued, “A quick review of the ‘Van-sham’ lawsuit reveals that the Lively Parties have been caught orchestrating their own smear campaign, manipulating procedures for inappropriate purposes by fabricating a complaint with an unrelated plaintiff and no named defendants.”
Freedman further stated, “To claim, as Vanzan (Lively and Reynolds) do in their secretive ‘complaint,’ that they are unaware of the identities of their own employees and contractual parties is ludicrous. We are only beginning to uncover a broader and more insidious scheme.”

Jones and Jonesworks are equally implicated in this wrongdoing. We emphasize once again that there has never been a smear campaign, except for the one orchestrated by the Lively Parties and Ms. Jones in collaboration with the New York Times.
Freedman concludes, “We will persist in the battle to expose and hold the culprits accountable and uncover the truth.”

On the other hand, Stephanie’s attorney Maaren Shah informed TMZ, “This case will be determined by the overwhelming evidence showing that Wayfarer Studios and Ms. Abel intentionally violated their contracts with Jonesworks, a fact the defendants have failed to counter.”
She added, “The defendants’ feeble attempt to build a case against Ms. Jones is nothing but a collection of debunked conspiracy theories and media stunts devoid of factual basis or evidence. The undeniable truth remains: the defendants have yet to provide a substantial defense against Ms. Jones’s claims. Everything else is mere distraction and noise.”
Another of Stephanie’s lawyers, Kristin Tahler, remarked, “Reversing their stance, abandoning previously asserted claims, presenting no new evidence, and issuing the world’s longest and most convoluted statement – a desperate move by a team that essentially admits they are in trouble. Despite their bravado, there is no effort to defend the misconduct exposed by the evidence. Quite revealing.”
