Rising Star Jurenzo Julius Making Waves at the Sharks
At just 20 years old, Jurenzo Julius is quickly making a name for himself at the Sharks with his impressive performances on the field.
Having excelled at the national U20 level, Julius has seamlessly transitioned into club rugby, showcasing his speed, strength, and dedication to the game in every match he plays.
Jurenzo Julius Learning and Growing
After shining for the national U20 side, Julius has caught the eye of head coach John Plumtree at the Sharks. Whether he starts the game or comes off the bench, Julius consistently delivers on the field, making an impact with his running and passing skills.
Having started four out of six games for the Sharks this season, Julius has already made his mark by scoring a try in a crucial match against Dragons RFC in the United Rugby Championship.
In a recent game against the Stormers, Julius once again proved his worth, making significant gains whenever he had possession of the ball.
Despite the Sharks facing injury challenges, Plumtree sees Julius as a bright spot in the team, praising his performance and potential for growth.
Impressive Track Record at U20 Level
During his time with the SA U20 side, Julius scored seven tries in 13 matches, showcasing his attacking prowess and ability to find the try line consistently.
Plumtree acknowledges that Julius still has areas to improve in his game, but believes that with more opportunities and experience, the young center will continue to develop and excel.
Transitioning from junior rugby to the professional level is a significant step, but Julius is adapting well and learning from senior players like Lukhanyo Am and other Springboks at the Sharks.
With a Champions Cup match against Toulouse on the horizon, Julius has the opportunity to further prove his talent and contribute to the Sharks’ success on the field.
