The Kenya U17 women’s national team, Junior Starlets, are gearing up for two crucial friendly matches against Morocco U17 as they prepare for the upcoming third round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Scheduled for Friday, April 4th, 2025, and Monday, April 7th, 2025, both matches will take place at 9pm EAT in Rabat, Morocco. These friendlies hold immense significance as the Junior Starlets get ready to face Cameroon in a decisive two-legged qualifier. The first leg is slated for Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Nyayo Stadium, while the return leg will be on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Stade Olembe. The winner on aggregate will secure a coveted spot at the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, hosted in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025.

The team’s journey to the third round was marked by a spirited performance against Uganda in the previous round. The Junior Starlets showcased their skills, determination, and resilience to outshine their regional opponents.

Head Coach Mildred Cheche has underscored the significance of the upcoming friendlies in honing the squad’s readiness for the Cameroon challenge. Cheche stated, “These matches will provide us with a valuable opportunity to evaluate our preparedness and expose the players to top-tier competition.”

Kenya is on a quest to etch their name in history by securing a consecutive appearance at the U17 FIFA Women’s World Cup. With meticulous preparation, including these encounters against a formidable Moroccan team, the Junior Starlets are steadfast in their pursuit of success.

The team’s progress, strategies, and aspirations will be closely followed as they strive to make their mark on the global stage. Stay tuned for more updates on the Junior Starlets’ journey towards the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
