Joy Mojisola Raimi, a recent graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, has been crowned as Miss World Nigeria 2025, representing Osun State. The prestigious title was awarded to Raimi after a highly competitive grand finale held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The announcement of Joy Mojisola Raimi’s victory was made by Ben Murray-Bruce, the founder of the Silverbird Group, who took to his X handle to congratulate the newly crowned beauty queen. Raimi emerged victorious among 37 contestants from across Nigeria, showcasing not only her elegance but also her impactful initiative known as ‘The Love for Humanity’ project.
According to Murray-Bruce, Raimi’s dedication to humanitarian services and her commitment to spreading love and restoring faith in humanity set her apart from the other contestants. The grand finale, which saw Raimi clinch the crown, was a culmination of a fierce competition where she competed against representatives from various states in Nigeria.
A University of Port Harcourt alumna, Raimi’s personal story is one of resilience and strength, shaped by a challenging childhood. During the final round of the competition, Raimi went head-to-head with contestants from Imo, Ebonyi, Abuja, and Abia. When asked about her experience with bullying, she shared her story of growing up without a mother and facing harassment from her caregiver. Despite being told that she would never succeed, Raimi has defied the odds and achieved this significant milestone.
As the newly crowned Miss World Nigeria, Raimi will now represent the country at the upcoming 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India. Scheduled to take place from May 7 to 31, the competition will see Raimi competing against contestants from 140 countries, showcasing her beauty, talent, and commitment to making a positive impact on the world stage.
