Banda brings her passion for sports and advocacy to SuperSport
Itumeleng Banda, a well-known TV and radio personality, has recently joined SuperSport as a presenter on Your World of Champions.
Banda’s journey to SuperSport started with her hosting the award-winning radio show Feminine First Touch. She then made history as the first woman to anchor the African Football League on SABC.
“SuperSport has always been my ultimate goal,” Banda expressed to The Citizen.
“Being officially part of Your World of Champions is a dream come true. I am thrilled to make a positive contribution, learn, and add my unique touch to this powerhouse brand.”

Beyond the screen
While Banda’s passion lies in sports, she has also made a mark in development and advocacy work.
As a certified SAFA D Licence coach, she has been actively involved in football development and has traveled across Africa with the Children’s Radio Foundation. Through her work, she has campaigned against gun violence and empowered young people.
Banda has also graced some of the country’s biggest stages, including the Momentum Gsport Awards, Basadi Music Awards, South African Amapiano Awards, and SABC shows like FootAfrique and Break Point.
“I aim to create spaces where young people can be seen, heard, and inspired to take up space,” she shared.
Offering advice to aspiring broadcasters, Banda emphasized the importance of taking that first step.
“Just start! Whether it’s watching games, writing, taking pictures, or even starting a YouTube channel, begin where you are. The journey may not be easy, but it will shape you and build your character. Remember your ‘why’ and let that drive you forward.”
