Renowned gospel artist Dr Lusanda Mcinga’s management has refuted claims circulating that she is bedridden, clarifying that while she is not in perfect health, she is not confined to bed either.
According to her manager, Sinalo Mcinga, Dr Lusanda is currently experiencing back and waist pain, which limits her ability to stand for extended periods of time. Despite this, she is still able to attend performances and has upcoming shows, including one in East London later this month.
While bookings may not be as frequent as before, Dr Lusanda continues to accept performance opportunities, albeit now performing seated due to her health condition.
Regarding the rumors of her health, Sinalo emphasized, “The headline was misleading, and it is not true that Dr Lusanda Mcinga is bedridden. Yes, I can confirm that she is suffering from back and waist pain, and she can’t stand for long periods of time.”
Looking ahead, Dr Lusanda is currently working on a remake of her popular song ‘Sobonana Emathuneni’. The track has gained traction on TikTok, with over 60,000 posts featuring its sound.
The upcoming remake, slated for release at the end of May, will feature collaborations with Betusile, Masi, and other artists, honoring the legacy of late gospel music singers.
Expressing her commitment to her musical calling, Dr Lusanda shared, “Music is my calling that God sent me to do in this world. So as long as I still have a voice, I will continue to minister through music.”
