Bournemouth Manager Iraola Praises Amorim Ahead of United Clash

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has praised the impact of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United as the Cherries gear up for a crucial Premier League showdown at Old Trafford this Sunday.

Currently sitting sixth in the table, Bournemouth holds a three-point advantage over United, who are in 13th place.

Amorim took over the reins at United following Erik ten Hag’s departure and kicked off his tenure with a draw against Ipswich. Since then, the Red Devils have recorded four wins and three losses, including a notable derby triumph over Manchester City and a disappointing League Cup exit to Tottenham.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Iraola commented, “They’re a different team now. Their style of play, tactical setup, and ability to control matches have all seen significant improvements. They are conceding fewer chances and goals while maintaining solid defensive statistics.”

Iraola further added, “If we allow them to dictate the pace of the game, it will be a tough challenge for us as they are in good form.”

Despite acknowledging United’s defensive improvements, Iraola pointed out their susceptibility to set-pieces but also acknowledged the quality of their defenders. “We will have to prepare diligently for set-plays, even though we may not be the tallest team,” he remarked.

Following a three-game winning streak, Bournemouth’s momentum was halted by a draw against West Ham. Iraola stressed the importance of continuing to collect points in a tightly contested league.

The upcoming clash on Sunday will serve as a significant test for both teams as they look to solidify their positions in the league standings.
