Comic Matt Friend Roasts Fox News Host Jesse Watters
Comic and impressionist Matt Friend took a swipe at Fox News host Jesse Watters during a recent live appearance on Watters’ show.
Friend didn’t waste any time, starting the interview with a sharp comment about Watters’ mother. He joked, “Every night, millions of Americans welcome you into their homes – if only your mother would do the same.”
Watters’ mother, Anne Watters, who is a Democrat, has been vocal in her criticism of her son in the past. She has called him out for his “sweeping statements” and “disdain for diversity.” When Watters took over Tucker Carlson’s prime-time slot, his mother even called in to warn him about avoiding conspiracy theories.
Watters once claimed that his mother didn’t invite him to Thanksgiving dinner after Donald Trump’s election victory, though the seriousness of his statement is up for debate.
During the interview, Friend didn’t hold back. He even did an impersonation of Trump and teased Watters for looking like a “smiling dead dog.”
Watters retaliated by asking Friend if anyone had ever punched him in the face.
Friend responded with a witty comeback, saying, “That’s a great question, Jesse. But I think that’s more of a question for you.”
Despite the playful banter, Friend emphasized that his goal with his impressions is simply to entertain and make people laugh.
He also joked about the lack of Democratic figures to impersonate, quipping, “There are no Democrats left.” He then proceeded to do impressions of Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris’ potential running mate in 2024.
