Ibrahim Salifu, a sanitation worker in the Tamale Metropolitan area and beneficiary of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has been hailed for his exceptional display of honesty after returning a substantial sum of GH¢20,000 he found during his daily duties.

Reports indicate that Ibrahim stumbled upon the money in a waste bag while carrying out his sanitation duties. A few days later, the rightful owner of the lost money visited Ibrahim’s workplace to inquire about it, and without a second thought, Ibrahim handed over the entire amount.

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Ibrahim’s employer, recognized his integrity and selflessness by rewarding him with an undisclosed sum of Ghana cedis, U.S. dollars, and a motorbike to facilitate his work and daily commute.

In a Facebook post, Zoomlion commended Ibrahim’s exceptional act, stating:

“Zoomlion Ghana Limited today honored one of its dedicated staff, Ibrahim Salifu, a Youth Employment Agency (YEA) beneficiary, for his exemplary display of honesty and godliness. To honor this act of integrity, we rewarded Mr. Ibrahim with an undisclosed amount of Ghanaian cedis, U.S. dollars, and a motorbike to support his movement. We commend his selfless act and reiterate our commitment to upholding the values of godliness and people-focus, encouraging all Ghanaians to live with integrity and a sense of responsibility. We say Ayekoo to Ibrahim Salifu!”

Ibrahim Salifu’s act of returning the lost money has not only showcased his integrity but has also served as a powerful example for others to follow. His recognition by Zoomlion highlights the significance of honesty in fostering trust within communities.

With the monetary rewards and transportation support, Ibrahim not only leaves work with a smile on his face but also emerges as a source of inspiration and motivation for society as a whole.
