Ghanaian Hip-Life sensation King Paluta is setting his sights on the ultimate prize at the upcoming Ghana Music Awards, but he remains grounded in his approach. Despite his confidence in his work this year, the “Makoma” crooner is not one to boast about his chances of winning big at the prestigious event.
In a recent interview with popular TV host Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show, King Paluta highlighted the hit songs he has released in 2024 and the significant strides he has made in his music career. While he is hopeful of clinching major awards next year, he maintains a humble attitude and acknowledges that anything can happen.
“It could happen but I don’t want to brag. I want to stay humble. Some people say I should boast when I speak, but I prefer to keep it humble all the time,” King Paluta shared during the interview.
The criteria for the Artiste of the Year category at the Ghana Music Awards require the artist to have the highest audience appeal and popularity in the year under review. The artist must have released a hit single, EP, or album and must also be among the artistes with the highest nominations in that year.
King Paluta has certainly made a strong case for himself with three chart-topping hits – “Makoma,” “Aseda,” and “For The Popping.” Additionally, he dropped his highly-anticipated album, “Give Me Some Time,” further solidifying his position as a frontrunner for the prestigious award.
“I know I can win, just like I won the New Artiste of the Year. This year, who has really delivered the biggest hits? I’m not saying others haven’t released good music, but who is reigning? King Paluta,” the confident musician stated.
In what has been his most successful year in his 15-year music career, King Paluta has graced some of the biggest stages locally and internationally, cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. As he gears up for the Ghana Music Awards, all eyes will be on King Paluta to see if he can turn his confidence into reality and walk away with the coveted Artiste of the Year award.
