U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has been discharged from a hospital in Washington, D.C. after a brief stay.
Noem was rushed to the hospital by ambulance on Tuesday due to an allergic reaction, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Following her hospitalization, Noem was alert and recovering. She has now been fully cleared by medical professionals.
Noem’s health scare occurred shortly after a tense moment during a press briefing in Los Angeles where National Guard and Marine troops were deployed in response to protests over ICE raids targeting undocumented immigrants.
During the same period, U.S. Senator Alex Padilla from California was detained after attempting to ask Noem a question during a meeting. Noem later confirmed meeting with Padilla for 15 minutes post his detainment.
It has been a tumultuous month for Noem, but she is now on the path to recovery.
