Erling Haaland Commits to Manchester City with New Contract Extension
In a significant move, Erling Haaland has put pen to paper on a new contract with Manchester City, extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2034. The Premier League champions officially announced the contract extension on Friday, solidifying Haaland’s commitment to the club for the next decade.
The 24-year-old forward’s previous contract was set to expire in June 2027, but with this new agreement, he has made a long-term commitment to Manchester City.
Expressing his joy at the contract extension, Haaland stated, “I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great club. Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters, and the environment helps bring the best out of everybody.”
Since joining City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Haaland has been a prolific goal scorer, notching up an impressive 111 goals in just 126 appearances for the club.
Outgoing director of football Txiki Begiristain commented on the contract extension, saying, “Everyone at the club is incredibly pleased that Erling has signed his new agreement, further solidifying his place in the Manchester City family.”
