Pep Guardiola Takes Responsibility for Manchester City’s Struggles

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has accepted responsibility for the club’s current struggles, which see the reigning Premier League champions trailing leaders Liverpool by 14 points.

Despite a 2-0 win over Leicester on Sunday, marking just their second victory in 14 games, City’s form contrasts sharply with their dominance in recent seasons, having won six of the last seven league titles.

“This slump is on me,” said Guardiola, in his ninth season at the club. “When you lose a lot of games, it’s the manager’s responsibility. I missed something – something I am not doing well.”

City have faced significant injuries, including to key player Rodri, but Guardiola insists he should have found solutions. “We were unbeaten until late October, but I couldn’t lift the team after injuries and setbacks. It’s my failure,” he admitted.

The champions will look to bounce back when they host West Ham on Saturday at 15:00 GMT.

This article highlights Pep Guardiola’s acceptance of responsibility for Manchester City’s recent struggles in the Premier League. Despite a recent win over Leicester, City finds themselves trailing behind Liverpool by a significant margin. Guardiola, in his ninth season at the club, takes the blame for the team’s poor performance, acknowledging that he has not been able to find solutions to overcome injuries and setbacks. Moving forward, City will aim to turn their fortunes around as they face West Ham in their upcoming match.
