Fox News host Greg Gutfeld made headlines on Tuesday when he delivered a scathing response to Chief Justice John Roberts after Roberts criticized President Donald Trump for suggesting that a federal judge should be impeached for opposing his decisions.
During an episode of “The Five,” Gutfeld didn’t hold back, telling Roberts to “shut the F up” after the Chief Justice weighed in on the Trump administration’s efforts to deport suspected Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador. Gutfeld argued that Trump, as the President of the United States, doesn’t have the luxury of following traditional protocols when it comes to protecting the safety of the American people.
In defense of Trump’s actions, Gutfeld emphasized that the President’s primary responsibility is to safeguard the well-being of over 300 million Americans, especially in the face of dangerous criminals entering the country. He asserted that Trump’s concerns about the influx of criminal elements, such as rapists and murderers, were valid and necessary for national security.
Despite the backlash Trump received for his comments about immigrants, Gutfeld stood by the President’s statements, insisting that Trump’s tough stance on immigration was justified. He pointed out that Trump’s remarks about criminals entering the country were accurate, even though statistics show that immigrants commit fewer crimes compared to native-born Americans.
Gutfeld’s remarks, as reported by Mediaite, also included a sarcastic jab at Trump’s disregard for judicial decisions he disagrees with. He humorously remarked on Trump’s supposed surprise at not following the appropriate protocols, eliciting laughter from the audience.
The controversy stemmed from Trump’s criticism of U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg, whom he referred to as “crooked” and suggested should be impeached for blocking deportation flights to El Salvador. Despite Boasberg’s order to halt the flights, the Trump administration proceeded with the deportations, prompting Roberts to emphasize that impeachment was not an appropriate response to judicial disagreements and that the normal appellate review process should be followed.
The clash between Trump, Roberts, and Gutfeld underscored the ongoing tensions surrounding immigration policy and judicial oversight in the United States. The heated exchange highlighted the different perspectives on the role of the President, the judiciary, and the rule of law in addressing complex issues like immigration and national security.
