The tragic incident that unfolded in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has left a family in Ruapndehi devastated. The grandparents of 27-year-old Sudip Neupane are in deep sorrow and shock after losing their beloved grandchild in a terror attack. The octogenarian couple is struggling to come to terms with the loss of Sudip, who was gunned down by terrorists while on vacation with his mother, sister, and brother-in-law.

Sudip, a young man with a promising future, had recently completed his studies in Health Assistance and Public Health. He was working on an oral-health project at Adhunik Samaj Dental when the tragic incident occurred. According to reports, Sudip was asked about his religion by the terrorists before being fatally shot. His family members, who were with him during the attack, managed to escape unharmed.

The Neupane family, who live in Sudip’s ancestral home in Ruapndehi, received the heartbreaking news early Wednesday morning. Sudip’s grandmother, Sewakali Neupane, recalled the fond memories she shared with her grandson and expressed her shock and disbelief over his untimely demise. She recounted how Sudip had visited her just a few months ago and had promised to come back if she ever fell ill.

Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arzu Rana Deuba, confirmed that Sudip’s mother, Rima Pandey, also sustained injuries in the attack. The entire family is in mourning, with Sudip’s uncle, Tejilal Neupane, calling for justice and compensation from the Indian government. He emphasized the need for a more secure environment for travelers visiting Jammu and Kashmir to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

In the wake of the attack, Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reached out to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express his condolences and solidarity. Both leaders condemned the heinous act of terrorism and vowed to stand together in the fight against such violence. The loss of Sudip has highlighted the human impact of transnational terrorism, underscoring the need for global cooperation to combat this menace.

The Neupane family’s grief is palpable, as they grapple with the sudden and senseless loss of Sudip. As they mourn his passing, they hope that his tragic death will not be in vain and that justice will be served. The entire community stands in solidarity with the family during this difficult time, offering support and comfort in their hour of need.
