Akwa Ibom Governor Purchases 30,000 Tickets for Fans Ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup Qualifier
In a generous gesture to support the Super Eagles, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has purchased 30,000 tickets for fans ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe. The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on March 25.
The state’s Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, made the announcement on Monday, highlighting the Governor’s commitment to mobilizing support for the national team. Fans can obtain free tickets from various designated distribution centers, including radio stations, De Venus Bar, Uyo Township Stadium, and Ibom Plaza.
It has been clarified that tickets will not be available for purchase, and entry without a valid ticket will not be permitted. Security agencies have been put on alert to ensure adherence to the regulations set forth by FIFA, CAF, and the NFF for this international fixture.
