Police Ladies head coach Abu Kassim is currently leading the race for the prestigious Women’s Coach of the Year award at the upcoming 2025 Ghana Football Awards. Kassim’s remarkable coaching skills and leadership were instrumental in guiding Police Ladies to their historic first league title win in the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season. The team emerged victorious after a hard-fought final against Ampem Darkoa Ladies, showcasing their determination and talent throughout the season.

This triumph marked a significant milestone for Police Ladies, who also secured the top spot in the Southern Zone, further solidifying their dominance in the league under Kassim’s guidance. His strategic approach and ability to motivate and inspire his players have undoubtedly played a crucial role in the team’s success on the field.

In another inspiring story of coaching excellence, Joyce Boatey-Agyei made headlines for leading Ghana’s U-15 girls to a remarkable victory at the 2025 African Schools Football Championship. Against all odds, Boatey-Agyei’s team defied expectations to secure a host and win opportunity, ultimately clinching their first-ever gold medal in their debut appearance at the championship. The team’s unbeaten record throughout the tournament and their stunning victory over defending champions South Africa showcased Boatey-Agyei’s exceptional coaching prowess and the players’ determination to succeed.

Meanwhile, Mercy Tagoe’s impressive coaching achievements with Oaks Football Ladies have also garnered attention in the football community. Tagoe guided her team to victory in the inaugural Zonal FA Cup tournament, setting the stage for their subsequent success in the Regional Championship. Despite finishing as runners-up in the competition, Oaks Football Ladies secured a coveted spot in the top flight for the upcoming season, a remarkable feat considering Tagoe’s tenure as head coach.

As we look forward to the awards ceremony, it is clear that these coaches have not only elevated the performance of their teams but have also inspired a new generation of players to strive for excellence on and off the field. Their passion, commitment, and leadership serve as a shining example of the positive impact that coaching can have in shaping the future of women’s football in Ghana.
