The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has shown unwavering confidence in the newly appointed Black Stars management committee, signaling a fresh start for the national team following their disappointing performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
After finishing at the bottom of Group F with only three points from six matches, the GFA took decisive action by dissolving the previous committee led by Mark Addo and appointing a new five-member committee to oversee the affairs of the Black Stars.
Dr. Randy Abbey has been appointed as the chairman of the committee, with former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah serving as the vice chairman. The other members include Samuel Aboabire, Moses Armah-Parker, and Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, all of whom bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the table.
GFA President Kurt Okraku expressed optimism about the team’s future under the new leadership, stating, “We are excited to announce the formation of this new management committee, which brings together a team of experienced and dedicated individuals who are passionate about Ghanaian football. We are confident that they will work tirelessly to support the Black Stars and ensure their success.”
The primary focus of the new committee will be on securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with strategic leadership and support provided to the Black Stars throughout the qualifying campaign.
In preparation for the World Cup qualifiers, the GFA is set to make changes to the technical team to enhance the team’s readiness for the challenges ahead. The ultimate goal is to see the Black Stars, who are four-time African champions, make a strong comeback and secure their fifth appearance at the prestigious FIFA World Cup.
The GFA’s commitment to revamping the management structure underscores its determination to restore the Black Stars’ competitive edge on the global stage. With the new committee in place and a renewed sense of purpose, Ghanaian football fans can look forward to a brighter future for the national team.
