Galatasaray in Talks with Aston Villa for Double Transfer

Galatasaray has reportedly initiated discussions with Aston Villa for a potential double transfer involving goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez and left-back Lucas Digne. Sources close to the negotiations indicate that the Turkish giants are prepared to offer a sum between €26 and €27 million for the two players, leveraging Villa’s recent setback in securing Champions League qualification for the upcoming season.

While Martinez was previously linked with a move to Manchester United earlier in the transfer window, Galatasaray’s interest now appears more concrete. On the other hand, Lucas Digne, who was rumored to be on Atletico Madrid’s radar, continues to be a key player in Unai Emery’s plans at Villa. Despite the increasing attention, the Frenchman is content in Birmingham and not actively seeking an exit.

In a parallel development, Aston Villa is reportedly eyeing Gabriel Sara, with a valuation of approximately €20 million. Although there are no discussions of a swap deal, the timing of the two negotiations could coincide closely.

Aston Villa’s transfer strategy seems to be focused on striking a balance between player departures and arrivals, particularly as they gear up for a challenging season ahead without the financial boost from Champions League revenue.

As the negotiations progress, both clubs are expected to navigate the intricacies of the transfer market to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving transfer saga.
