Barcelona’s Hansi Flick Aims for Annual Title Celebrations After Treble Triumph
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has expressed his desire to see the club’s recent La Liga title celebrations become a regular occurrence, following a dream debut season in charge.
The German manager led Barça to a domestic treble—clinching the league title against Espanyol on Thursday to add to their Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup triumphs. On Friday, around 670,000 jubilant fans flooded the streets of Barcelona, culminating in a celebratory parade to the iconic Arc de Triomf.
“When you see the faces of the people, the passion for this amazing club and how they celebrate—it’s really good to see,” said Flick at a press conference on Saturday. “If we have this every year, it’s not bad. We go for this—we work hard for it in the coming years.”
Despite the difficulty of sustaining such dominance, Flick believes that with focus and hard work, Barcelona can continue their success. He is contracted until 2026, and according to club vice-president Rafa Yuste, a contract extension is expected soon.
Barcelona play Villarreal on Sunday in La Liga, and although the players celebrated into Friday night, Flick suggested that won’t necessarily impact his squad selection. “I always say: who can party can also work,” he quipped. “They can play, so for me it’s not an excuse.”
Flick remains determined to finish the season unbeaten in La Liga in 2025, with two matches remaining. “We want to celebrate with our fans in the stadium and end the season feeling like champions. We didn’t lose any matches in La Liga in 2025, and it should stay that way.”
The Villarreal clash may mark Barcelona’s final match at the Olympic Stadium on Montjuïc, with a return to a partially renovated Camp Nou anticipated next season. Flick reflected fondly on the temporary venue while looking ahead with optimism.
“I have had a great experience with Montjuïc this season,” he said. “I’m also looking forward to playing in the fantastic new stadium next season.”
