Former President Joe Biden received a devastating diagnosis over the weekend, as his office announced that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone. Despite the seriousness of the diagnosis, a longtime friend of Biden, former Rep. Bob Brady, reassured the public that the family remains optimistic about the former president’s prognosis.

Brady, who has known Biden for decades, shared that he had spoken with the family and they expressed confidence that the cancer is treatable and that Biden will be okay. While acknowledging the aggressive nature of the cancer, Brady emphasized that Biden is expected to undergo effective treatment and make a full recovery.

The news of Biden’s diagnosis comes at a time of heightened scrutiny over his physical and mental well-being during his presidency and his previous presidential campaign. The timing of the announcement also coincides with the release of a book detailing how a close circle of advisors shielded a diminished Biden from the public eye.

Despite the challenges ahead, Dr. Chris George, a medical director specializing in cancer treatment, explained that while prostate cancer that has spread to the bone cannot be cured, it can be effectively managed. With proper treatment, Biden could potentially live for many more years.

Brady, who affectionately refers to Biden as “the boss,” has been a steadfast supporter and friend of the former president. Their friendship spans over 30 years, with Brady often engaging in weekly conversations with Biden, particularly about their shared love for Corvettes. Brady has been a vocal advocate for Biden, even referring to him as “our senator” despite his Delaware roots.

As Biden navigates this challenging chapter, Brady remains a loyal ally, awaiting a call from the president after primary elections in his state on Tuesday. Despite the uncertainty that lies ahead, Brady’s unwavering support and admiration for Biden remain steadfast.

In the face of adversity, Biden can lean on the support of his loved ones and allies like Brady as he embarks on his journey towards recovery. The former president’s resilience and determination serve as a beacon of hope during this difficult time.
