The National Association of Eritrean War Disabled Veterans (NAEWDV) Central Committee recently held its annual assessment meeting in Asmara on 31 January. The meeting focused on activities geared towards improving the economic capacity of members to enhance their livelihoods and enable them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society. Reports presented at the meeting emphasized the role of stakeholders in supporting these efforts.
During the meeting, briefings were provided on vocational training programs aimed at developing the capacities of the members. The reports also showcased the successful rehabilitation of members through agricultural initiatives, poultry and beekeeping activities, as well as small-scale trade ventures.
Mr. Mohammed-Nur Idris, the head of organization and information for the association, commended the progress made in empowering members to become self-reliant. He urged Government institutions and stakeholders to further bolster their participation and contributions to these initiatives. Additionally, the Central Committee elected Mr. Fesehaye Tesfamicael as the new chairman of the association.
Looking ahead to 2025, priority tasks include strengthening stakeholder contributions, expanding membership, developing new projects, enhancing the economic capacity of the association, and improving the organizational capacity of its branches.
