The initiative is seen as a cornerstone in Egypt’s digital transformation process, with the goal of enhancing digital exports as part of the country’s strategy for national economic development. Minister Talaat provided an overview of the initiative, emphasizing that it will offer training for employment in high-demand fields such as Artificial Intelligence, programming, cybersecurity, digital design, and digital arts. The initiative is open for registration to individuals of all age groups, academic and professional backgrounds, and from all Egyptian governorates, in order to expand the base of beneficiaries.
Applications to join the initiative will be digital, with the application window set to open after Eid Al-Fitr holiday. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will announce the platform for registration, aiming to qualify a large number of young people to work in the information labor market. The initiative will provide comprehensive training courses, including technical training, personal skills development, English language courses, and practical training in collaboration with major international and local companies operating in Egypt.
The initiative also includes tracks for obtaining a master’s degree from prestigious international universities, as well as four training tracks ranging from four months to two years. The goal is to accept 5000 students annually, with an estimated cost of approximately three billion Egyptian pounds for accommodation and study spaces, and one billion Egyptian pounds for training courses annually.
President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of accuracy, transparency, and impartiality in the selection process of beneficiaries to build public trust in the initiative. The initiative is crucial in preparing its beneficiaries to meet the demands of the job market.
Overall, the “Digilians” initiative is a significant step towards empowering Egyptian youth in the digital age. With a focus on training, qualification, and employment in high-demand fields, the initiative aligns with Egypt’s vision for economic development and digital transformation.
