Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, and President’s Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, provided insights into the discussions, highlighting the progress of projects within the Ministry of Transport and Industry, particularly focusing on the establishment, modernization, and operation of ports across Egypt. These projects play a crucial role in the country’s development programs.

President El-Sisi instructed the continuation of efforts to expedite the implementation of integrated logistical development corridor projects that connect production areas with the maritime ports currently undergoing upgrades. These ports are envisioned to become world-class facilities with significant accommodation capacity and diverse logistical areas. The aim is to integrate them seamlessly into the modern transportation network, including roads, axes, and railways, positioning Egypt as a global trade and logistics hub.

The meeting also delved into interconnection projects with African nations, encompassing land, railway, maritime transportation, and river navigation corridors. These initiatives are designed to enhance trade with African countries, with a focus on collaboration efforts with various nations on the continent.

President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of expediting interconnection efforts with African countries in alignment with Agenda 2063 and other pertinent African Union programs.

Further discussions revolved around the high-speed electric rail network spanning Egypt, which is set to serve as a critical infrastructure for development, connecting urban and industrial zones as well as tourist destinations. The meeting also explored opportunities for expanding industrial areas to bolster the Egyptian industry, with a keen emphasis on establishing new factories to meet local market demands and promote industrial localization.
