Netflix character fashion has become a hot topic online, with styles from popular shows going viral on TikTok, trending on Instagram, and even influencing real-world shopping habits. A recent study conducted by Kaiia delved into online behavior to determine which Netflix characters are generating the most interest when it comes to style and outfits.

The research team analyzed average monthly searches using terms like “[character name] style” and “[character name] outfits” to compile a list of the most searched-for characters. The rankings reflect total search volume, taking into account the characters’ series or movie, release dates, and a brief description of their fashion vibe.

Character Series / Movie Characters Fashion Vibe Searches for a Character’s Style or Outfits
Wednesday Addams Wednesday Dark academia, spooky chic 4,884,650
Princess Diana The Crown Vintage luxe and old money vibe 643,810
Daphne Bridgerton Bridgerton Feminine and fairy-tale regencycore 613,330
Emily Cooper Emily in Paris Parisian glam with playful couture 502,610
Eleven Stranger Things Nostalgic & character-evolving 145,440
Eddie Horniman The Gentlemen Elevated rustic elegance 79,280
Ruby Matthews Sex Education Cheerleader chic, sexy and confident 59,090
Sylvie Grateau Emily in Paris Boss-lady French fashion 57,090
Camille Razat Emily in Paris Understated Parisian chic 36,300
Maeve Wiley Sex Education Grungy alt-girl energy 18,040

Wednesday Addams from the show Wednesday tops the list as the most searched character with 4,884,650 monthly queries related to her fashion. Her iconic black dresses, white collars, and moody aesthetic have transcended from just a costume to a full-blown trend.

Coming in second is Princess Diana from The Crown with 643,810 monthly searches. Her vintage luxe style and old money vibe, featuring 80s and 90s staples like pastel suits and classic knits, have captured the attention of fashion-forward audiences.

Daphne Bridgerton from Bridgerton secures the third spot with 613,330 monthly searches for her feminine and fairy-tale regencycore look. Flowing empire-waist dresses, pastel tones, and ornate detailing create a fantasy element that resonates with fans seeking an elegant escape.

Emily Cooper from Emily in Paris ranks fourth with 502,610 monthly searches. Her bold and personality-filled outfits, featuring bright prints, designer bags, and dramatic layering, stand out for their over-the-top yet eye-catching appeal.

Eleven from Stranger Things takes the fifth spot with 145,440 monthly searches. Her style evolution from a tomboyish look to vintage 80s fashion has kept viewers intrigued and inspired by her cool and collectible outfits.

Eddie Horniman from The Gentlemen lands in sixth place, garnering 79,280 monthly searches for his relaxed yet stylish wardrobe. With countryside jackets, textured fabrics, and simple layers, his look exudes confidence without being flashy.

Ruby Matthews from Sex Education claims the seventh spot with 59,090 monthly searches for her confident and fashion-forward style. Bold pieces, tight fits, and standout accessories define her modern take on the classic popular-girl look.

Another character from Emily in Paris, Sylvie Grateau, ranks eighth with 57,090 monthly searches for her sharp and minimalist French fashion. Clean, tailored pieces in muted tones convey power and elegance effortlessly.

Camille Razat, also from Emily in Paris, secures the ninth spot with 36,300 monthly searches for her understated French style. Simple and sleek outfits give off an effortless Parisian vibe that is easy to emulate in real life.

Lastly, Maeve Wiley from Sex Education rounds out the list with 18,040 monthly searches. Her bold and edgy style featuring dark clothes, chunky boots, and a hint of punk adds a unique flair that stands out without the need for color or flash.

A spokesperson from Kaiia commented on the study, stating, “Streaming characters are setting real-life fashion trends. Viewers are not just watching these characters, but actively searching for their outfits and using them as style guides. This showcases the significant influence on-screen wardrobes can have, especially when they offer something bold, nostalgic, or aspirational.”

The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health

In today’s digital age, social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. From connecting with friends and family to staying updated on current events, social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok have revolutionized the way we communicate and interact with each other. However, while social media has many benefits, there is growing concern about its impact on mental health.

One of the most significant ways in which social media affects mental health is through comparison. When we scroll through our feeds and see curated and often idealized versions of other people’s lives, it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to them. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem, and even depression. Research has shown that spending too much time on social media can contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation, as we compare our own lives to the seemingly perfect lives of others.

Another way in which social media can negatively impact mental health is through cyberbullying. With the anonymity that social media provides, many individuals feel emboldened to say hurtful and harmful things to others online. Cyberbullying can have serious consequences for the mental health of the victim, leading to feelings of anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. The constant barrage of negative comments and harassment can take a toll on one’s self-esteem and overall well-being.

Furthermore, social media can also contribute to feelings of FOMO, or fear of missing out. Seeing others’ highlight reels on social media can make us feel like we’re missing out on exciting experiences and opportunities. This can lead to feelings of anxiety and inadequacy, as we constantly compare our own lives to the seemingly perfect lives of others. The pressure to keep up with the latest trends and experiences can be overwhelming and detrimental to our mental health.

On the other hand, social media can also have positive effects on mental health. It can provide a sense of community and connection, especially for individuals who may feel isolated or marginalized in their offline lives. Social media can be a valuable tool for finding support and resources, connecting with like-minded individuals, and sharing experiences with others who may be going through similar challenges.

In conclusion, while social media has the potential to both positively and negatively impact mental health, it’s essential to be mindful of how we use these platforms. Setting boundaries, limiting screen time, and curating our feeds to include positive and uplifting content can help mitigate some of the negative effects of social media on mental health. It’s crucial to prioritize our well-being and mental health in the digital age, and to seek support and resources when needed. By being aware of the potential pitfalls of social media and taking steps to protect our mental health, we can navigate these platforms in a healthier and more mindful way.
