If you’re not familiar with the area, you may struggle to find Die Stoep restaurant in Bronkhorstspruit. However, this hidden gem is beloved by locals and those who are lucky enough to discover it.

Die Stoep offers generous portions at prices that will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Open all day, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between, including a cozy spot for coffee or a drink at the pub.

The charming exterior of Die Stoep sets the tone for a retro dining experience. Inside, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere with wooden floors and a choice between a cozy dining area or a lively pub.

One of the standout features of Die Stoep is its super friendly staff who can converse with customers in various languages, including Sesotho, Afrikaans, and English. The restaurant also boasts a rich history, with the town’s first flush toilet installed in 1952 and rumors of a ghost named Bob haunting the premises.

The menu at Die Stoep reflects a time when dining out was affordable. With prices significantly lower than nearby franchise restaurants, you can enjoy dishes like Crumbed Mushrooms, Garlic Snails, and Greek Salad at a fraction of the cost.

Main courses at Die Stoep are equally budget-friendly, with options like grilled fillet steak, ribs, T-Bone steak, and pizza all priced competitively. The restaurant also offers signature dishes such as Tripe and Trotters, Lamb Tails Eisbein, and Bobotie.

While the kiddie’s menu is slightly pricier, a family of four can still enjoy a meal at Die Stoep for significantly less than at other establishments. The wine list may not be extensive, but it offers affordable options to complement your meal.

Die Stoep may not be a gourmet dining experience, but it provides good service, decent food, and unbeatable value for money. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a pit stop on a weekend getaway, Die Stoep is a restaurant worth discovering.
