Dangote Petroleum Refinery Reduces Petrol Price to N820 Per Litre
In a move to offer more affordable fuel to consumers, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a decrease in its ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N840 per litre to N820 per litre.
This reduction comes just a week after the refinery had previously lowered its ex-depot price from N880 to N840 per litre.
Anthony Chiejina, spokesperson for the Dangote Group, stated in a press release on Tuesday that the new price adjustment would take effect immediately.
Explaining the reason behind the price reduction, Chiejina mentioned that the global crude oil market fluctuations, especially during the recent 12-day period of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, had led to an increase in crude prices, prompting the earlier adjustment to N840 per litre.
He also mentioned that the refinery’s partners such as MRS, Heyden, Ardova (AP), Hyde, Optima, and Techno Oil are expected to follow suit and update their retail prices accordingly.
Futhermore, Chiejina reported that more independent marketers have joined the network of distributors supplying Dangote Refinery’s petroleum products across the country, attracted by the promise of reliable supply.
He emphasized that the Dangote refinery is actively expanding its domestic petrol distribution network, offering competitive pricing and enhancing accessibility to refined products throughout Nigeria.
