The Congo Energy&Investment Forum’s (CEIF) Gala Dinner was a night to remember, as high-level energy stakeholders gathered to celebrate the winners of the prestigious CEIF in Brazzaville. The event, sponsored by Imperatus Energy, saw African Ministers and global energy leaders come together to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions in the Republic of Congo’s energy sector.

One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement by Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, the Minister of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Congo, that the CEIF will be returning for a second edition in 2026. Minister Itoua praised the organization of the event and expressed his commitment to hosting similar gatherings to further strengthen industry collaboration.

The Gala Dinner kicked off with the presentation of awards, with President Denis Sassou Nguesso being honored with the Lifetime Achievement to the African Energy Industry Award. President Nguesso’s visionary leadership has transformed the oil and gas sector in the Republic of Congo, making it the backbone of the economy and driving industrialization, electrification, and job creation. His efforts have led to the Republic of Congo becoming an LNG producer in 2024 and attracting significant investment from international and local firms.

Another notable awardee was Sockaht Charles, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his instrumental role in shaping the Republic of Congo’s oil and gas success. As the Former Chief of Cabinet at the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Former General Director for Upstream at SNPC, Charles has driven crucial industry reforms and policy changes that have paved the way for growth and investment in the sector.

SLB was honored with the Service Company of the Year Award for its role in driving deepwater development and production efficiency in the Republic of Congo. These awards highlight the exceptional achievements and contributions of individuals and companies in the Republic of Congo’s energy sector.

The CEIF Gala Dinner was a testament to the innovation and excellence in the Republic of Congo’s energy industry, and the winners truly represent the best in the sector.
