Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Lectures on Belt and Road Initiative at Zimbabwe National Defence University
On February 27, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding delivered a comprehensive lecture on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China’s foreign policy to the faculty and students of Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU). The event was attended by ZNDU Vice Chancellor and Commandant AVM Michael Tedzani Moyo, along with senior military officers from Zimbabwe and other African countries.
Ambassador Zhou elaborated on the principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and discussed the significance of the BRI. He highlighted the successful collaborations between China and African nations, including Zimbabwe, showcasing the potential of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the “Three Global Initiatives”. Following the lecture, Ambassador Zhou engaged in a stimulating dialogue with ZNDU students on international and regional issues.
AVM Moyo and the audience praised China for its support towards the socio-economic development of Zimbabwe and Africa, as well as its contributions to global peace and security. They expressed gratitude to Ambassador Zhou for his enlightening lecture and expressed optimism for the future of the China-Africa partnership in creating a high-level community with a shared future.
Ambassador Zhou also participated in a joint interview with Zimbabwean media outlets at ZNDU, further strengthening the diplomatic ties between China and Zimbabwe.
