Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi will unfortunately be absent from the Home of Legends tournament in Gqeberha this Saturday. The club announced that Nabi had to undergo a minor operation, resulting in his absence from the event.
The coaching staff will feel the absence of Nabi, who is currently recovering at home following the orthopedic procedure. However, Chiefs are optimistic that he will be back in action in time for their upcoming league match against Richards Bay on 27 November.
In the absence of Nabi, assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will take charge of the team for the tournament, where they will face Golden Arrows in the first semifinal. The tournament will also feature Mamelodi Sundowns against Chippa United, with the final set to take place later in the day.
The club expressed their well wishes for Nabi’s speedy recovery and eagerly anticipate his return to the coaching bench. The tournament will be held at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, providing an exciting opportunity for the team to showcase their skills and compete against top opposition.
Chiefs fans will undoubtedly miss Nabi’s presence on the sidelines, but they can rest assured that the team is in capable hands with the assistant coaches leading the way. The club is hopeful for a successful tournament and looks forward to Nabi’s return to the helm in the near future.
