Chelsea stages a remarkable comeback to defeat Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Chelsea delivered a stunning comeback from being 2-0 down to secure a thrilling 4-3 victory against Tottenham on Sunday. The win has propelled Enzo Maresca’s Blues to just four points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, following Arsenal’s draw with Fulham.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea began the day trailing Liverpool by seven points, but with the Reds’ game postponed due to adverse weather conditions, the London clubs had an opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table.

Arsenal settled for a 1-1 draw, but Chelsea, under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, produced a remarkable turnaround at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham surged ahead with goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski within the first 11 minutes of the game. However, Chelsea quickly responded with a brilliant strike from Jadon Sancho to pull one back before halftime.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer shines

In the second half, Chelsea continued their resurgence with Cole Palmer converting a penalty in the 61st minute to equalize. Enzo Fernandez then put Chelsea in front 12 minutes later, and Palmer added another penalty to extend their lead. Son Heung-min managed to pull one back for Spurs, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Chelsea’s victory.

With this win, Chelsea now sits in second place with 31 points from 15 games, just two points ahead of Arsenal. Meanwhile, Liverpool, with a game in hand, leads the table with 35 points.

On the other hand, the defeat is a significant blow for Tottenham, who had previously thrashed Manchester City 4-0. Ange Postecoglou’s side has now suffered seven losses in 15 Premier League matches and finds themselves in 11th place in the standings.

Arsenal’s disappointment against Fulham

Earlier in the day, Arsenal’s four-match winning streak came to an end as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham. Raul Jimenez gave Fulham an early lead before William Saliba equalized for Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta expressed his disappointment at not securing the win, despite dominating the game. The Gunners were missing key defensive players Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori due to injury, which Fulham exploited to take the lead.

Although Arsenal had success from set-pieces in their recent matches, they couldn’t find a winner against Fulham. Bukayo Saka had a late goal disallowed for offside after a VAR review, denying Arsenal the victory.

In other games, Leicester City fought back late to secure a 2-2 draw against Brighton, while Bournemouth staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Ipswich 2-1.

The Premier League continues to provide thrilling encounters as the race for the title heats up, with Chelsea’s remarkable comeback against Tottenham serving as a highlight of the weekend’s action.
