The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has commended Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman for their outstanding performance in Nigeria’s recent victory over Rwanda. The Super Eagles secured a 2-0 win against Rwanda’s Amavubi in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday five clash.

Victor Osimhen was the star of the match as he scored a brace to lead Nigeria to victory, while Ademola Lookman also made a significant contribution by providing an assist for one of the goals.

In recognition of their stellar display, CAF took to social media to praise the duo. They posted a message along with a picture of Osimhen and Lookman, referring to them as the last two African Player of the Year winners. The post received positive reactions from fans and followers.

Following the win against Rwanda, the Super Eagles climbed to fourth place in Group C. Eric Chelle’s side will now prepare to face the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo next week Tuesday.

Overall, Nigeria’s victory over Rwanda showcased the team’s strength and skill, with Osimhen and Lookman playing pivotal roles in securing the crucial three points. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next match as the Super Eagles continue their quest for World Cup qualification.
