Exciting New Women’s Futsal Competition Introduced by CAF
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has recently announced a groundbreaking development in the world of women’s futsal. In a significant move, the CAF executive committee, during its meeting on January 27 in Rabat, gave the green light to the creation of the Women’s Futsal African Cup of Nations.
Scheduled to debut in Morocco from April 22 to 30, 2025, this tournament is poised to elevate the status of women’s futsal across the continent. The decision to introduce this competition underscores the increasing popularity and potential of women’s futsal in Africa.
With high stakes on the line, the finalists of the Women’s Futsal African Cup of Nations will secure coveted spots in the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup. The global tournament is scheduled to be held in the Philippines later that year, in November or December.
CAF’s initiative to launch this competition demonstrates its unwavering commitment to promoting women’s sports and fostering the growth of futsal in Africa. By providing a platform for players and teams to showcase their talents on both the continental and global stages, CAF is paving the way for greater participation and recognition in the sport.
