Prince M.I.K: The Multi-Talented Artist Making Waves in Berlin

If you find yourself in Neukoelln, one of the most diverse districts in Berlin, there is a name that resonates throughout the cultural scene – Prince Ofori, also known as Prince M.I.K. Originally from Ghana, Prince has made a name for himself as a pillar of the artistic community in Germany and beyond.

Born in Ghana, Prince moved to Germany as a young teenager to reunite with his mother and brother who had settled there years before. The transition to Berlin was not without its challenges, as Prince faced cultural differences and language barriers. However, he used his art as a means of expression and connection, ultimately making Neukoelln his home. Reflecting on his journey, Prince credits this experience for equipping him with the ability to adapt to various situations and connect with people from all walks of life.

Today, Prince is a multi-disciplinary creative, excelling in various art forms. As a DJ, he captivates audiences with his dynamic and energetic sets, combining music and dance to create unforgettable experiences. He also serves as an artistic director, overseeing stage productions, NFL Halftime Shows, and touring with renowned artists like Peter Fox.

In addition to his work in music and performance, Prince is the founder of M.I.K Family, a respected dance collective with international acclaim. Known for his emotive and technically precise dancing, Prince has played a key role in popularizing Krumping in Germany and elevating it within the global dance culture scene.

Despite his busy career, Prince remains committed to his community. As the chairman of MINCE e.V., an NGO focused on anti-discriminatory youth work through Black dance cultures in Neukoelln, he organizes cultural events, workshops, and festivals that celebrate Black dance cultures. His projects not only empower young artists from Africa and the Caribbean but also provide them with opportunities to showcase their talents on a global stage.

Through his work, Prince bridges cultural divides, promotes social awareness, and empowers artists to turn their creativity into sustainable careers.

Prince M.I.K’s artistic versatility, commitment to social change, and mentorship of young artists set him apart as a unique and influential figure in the cultural landscape. As an artist to watch, Prince continues to make waves both in Berlin and beyond, leaving a lasting impact on the artistic community.
