Lebohang Raputsoe, a proud resident of the Vaal, has been chosen to represent South Africa at the upcoming Miss Supranational competition in Poland. This decision comes after the Miss South Africa organization decided not to participate in this year’s event, leading to former Miss SA Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala taking on the role of the new National Director of Miss Supranational SA.
In a recent announcement, Montjane-Tshabalala expressed her gratitude at being appointed as the director of Miss Supranational South Africa. Following the news that the Miss SA Organization would not be renewing its license for the Miss Supranational competition, Montjane-Tshabalala stepped in to acquire the license for Miss Supranational.
Miss Supranational is a prestigious international beauty pageant that was established in 2009, with most of the contests being held in Poland. In a groundbreaking move, a parallel male contest called Mister Supranational was introduced seven years later, with JP Robberts, the CEO of Mr South Africa, being named as the National Director of Mister Supranational South Africa.
Montjane-Tshabalala, who was crowned Miss SA in 2010, brings with her over a decade of experience in advocating for the empowerment of young women from underprivileged backgrounds. She expressed her excitement at working with the Miss Supranational organization and emphasized the transformative power of pageantry when rooted in purpose.
Traditionally, Miss SA runner-ups have represented South Africa at the Miss Supranational competition, while the winner goes on to compete in Miss Universe or Miss World. However, in a surprising turn of events, Miss SA 2021 winner Lalela Mswane participated and won the Miss Supranational pageant in 2022. In 2023, Ayanda Thabethe, the Miss SA 2022 runner-up, represented South Africa at the Miss Supranational competition.
For the upcoming Miss Supranational event, Lebohang Raputsoe has been chosen to represent South Africa. Described as kind, with exceptional leadership qualities and an inspirational story to share, Raputsoe is a deserving candidate for the role. With a background in national and international pageants, Raputsoe is pursuing a doctoral degree in Human Resources Management and holds degrees in Industrial Psychology and Labour Relations Management.
As Raputsoe prepares to take on the challenge of representing South Africa on the global stage, she is focused on inspiring others and making a positive impact. With Montjane-Tshabalala’s guidance and support, Raputsoe is determined to use her platform to bring about change and uplift those around her.
