A shocking discovery was made early Monday morning south of Pueblo, as a passerby called 911 to report a burning car on the west side of the frontage road along Interstate 25. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) promptly launched a death investigation in response to the call, which came in just after 1 a.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Pueblo Fire Department worked quickly to extinguish the flames engulfing the vehicle. Upon closer inspection, firefighters made a grim discovery – a body was found inside the burning car. Assisted by the Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, the investigation into this mysterious and tragic incident began.
Authorities have announced that an autopsy will be conducted by the Pueblo County Coroner in order to identify the individual found in the vehicle and to determine the cause and manner of death. Until further information is gathered, the circumstances surrounding this unsettling discovery remain unclear.
