Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has finalized his starting XI for the crucial 2025 AFCON match against Angola in Luanda on Friday evening. The team will be led by Jordan Ayew as the captain and striker, with Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Kingsley Schindler playing on the wings. In the midfield, Michael Baidoo has been given the nod alongside West Ham star Mohammed Kudus in the attacking midfield role. Elisha Owusu and Ibrahim Sulemana complete the midfield setup.

This lineup comes as a surprise as Otto Addo had to deal with setbacks due to eight key players pulling out of the squad last minute. The team’s performance in this match will be crucial as a point by Sudan would mean the Black Stars fail to qualify for the tournament. Currently last in the group, a win against Angola would lift them to third place with five points, just two behind Sudan and one above Niger.

To secure their spot, Ghana will also need to defeat Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium in their next match and hope that Sudan faces a defeat against Angola. This scenario would see the Black Stars overtake Sudan to secure the last qualification spot in Group F.

In order to qualify for the AFCON, the Black Stars will need to maintain their focus and determination in the upcoming matches. The team’s starting lineup against Angola showcases the talent and skill of the players, who will be looking to secure a vital victory on the road to qualification. With the support of their fans and the guidance of coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars are poised to give their all in the pursuit of AFCON glory.
