Award-winning Gqom queen Babes Wodumo is ready to make her return to television with a new reality show titled “Wena Wodumo,” set to premiere in March on Moja Love (DStv channel 157). The show will air on Saturday, 29 March at 8.30 pm, giving fans an intimate look into Babes’s life as she navigates through the aftermath of her husband, the late music star Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo’s unexpected passing.
In an exclusive interview with The Citizen, Babes expressed her excitement about sharing her journey with the audience. She explained that “Wena Wodumo” will focus on her life as a widow, a mother, and an artist, showcasing the emotional conflicts, depression, and heartbreak she has experienced since losing Mampintsha. Unlike her previous reality show where she shared the screen with her husband, this time, Babes will be telling her own story without his presence.
Adjusting to life without Mampintsha has been a challenging process for Babes, as she has had to come to terms with his absence and navigate disagreements over his wishes. Despite the hardships, she credits her family for being her pillar of strength and providing unwavering support throughout her journey. Babes emphasized the importance of family and prayer in helping her cope with the loss and find the strength to move forward.
In addition to the reality show, Babes also announced plans to release new music, including honoring Mampintsha’s legacy by sharing his unreleased tracks with the world. She believes that the time is right to share his music and continue his musical legacy.
As Babes prepares to open up her life to the public through “Wena Wodumo,” fans can expect to see a raw and emotional portrayal of her journey as she navigates through grief, healing, and new beginnings. Stay tuned for the premiere of Babes Wodumo’s reality show next month, as she bravely shares her story with the world.
