Anthony Joshua Surpasses $200 Million in Career Earnings
Anthony Joshua has recently achieved a significant milestone in his boxing career, surpassing the $200 million mark in career earnings. This impressive feat solidifies his position as one of the highest-earning boxers in the sport, outshining his heavyweight rival Tyson Fury and emerging star Gervonta Davis.
In 2024 alone, the former two-time heavyweight champion raked in a staggering $75 million from his fights, placing him second only to Canelo Alvarez in yearly earnings. While Alvarez matched Joshua’s fight purse, he edged him out in off-field earnings by $2 million.
On the other hand, Tyson Fury, at 36 years old, collected $50 million in 2024, bringing his career earnings to $150 million, a significant distance behind Joshua’s impressive haul.
Gervonta Davis, aged 30, has accumulated $50 million since turning professional, with recent bouts against Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin contributing nearly $20 million to his wealth. Garcia himself has emerged as a pay-per-view star, amassing over $40 million in career earnings.
Joshua’s financial success began notably with his Saudi Arabia rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr., where he pocketed $65 million. His subsequent battles with Oleksandr Usyk yielded over $40 million from the first two encounters.
Further adding to Joshua’s earnings was his high-profile clash with Francis Ngannou last year, which added $50 million to his account. Additional paydays include consecutive $12 million purses for fights against Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius, along with similar earnings from six spectacular shows at Wembley and the Principality Stadium.
Currently recovering from injuries sustained in his recent defeat to Daniel Dubois, Joshua is contemplating a potential fight with Tyson Fury. However, before making any decisions, the two-time world champion is waiting for the outcome of Usyk vs. Fury 2.
If the much-anticipated all-British bout comes to fruition, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, who has one fight left on his Riyadh Season contract, is expected to make a lucrative offer.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has indicated that the boxer will not be stepping into the ring again until at least May 2025, ruling out an immediate rematch with IBF heavyweight champion Dubois.
“We’ve got one last chapter in this career that we need to make sure we get 100 per cent spot on,” Hearn stated. “When he comes back in May or June or whenever that’s going to be, he has to be physically and mentally 100 per cent ready.”
