The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ahanta West, Hon. Ing. Ebenezer Aidoo, recently held a crucial meeting with the chiefs, elders, and residents of Apimanim to discuss the upcoming construction of a cassava processing facility in the community. This initiative is part of the Assembly’s strategy to boost agro-industrial development and foster inclusive growth within the municipality.

During the meeting, Hon. Aidoo commended the community for their generosity in providing land for the project, describing it as a patriotic act that reflects their commitment to development. He emphasized that the cassava processing facility would create new economic opportunities, particularly in terms of job creation, value addition, and agricultural progress.

The proposed facility is expected to revolutionize cassava production and processing in the area, bridging the gap between local farming and industrial markets. This aligns perfectly with the national agenda of promoting agro-processing and value addition as crucial components of Ghana’s sustainable development strategy.

Accompanied by senior officials from the Assembly, including the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Joyce Akosua Angmorteh, and the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr. Dennis Adjei Antwi, Hon. Aidoo visited the designated project site to assess its readiness for construction.

The chiefs and elders of Apimanim enthusiastically welcomed the initiative, recognizing its potential to generate employment for the youth and drive long-term socio-economic transformation. They pledged their full support and cooperation to ensure the success of the project.

This community engagement exemplifies the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly’s dedication to participatory governance and the implementation of development projects tailored to the specific needs of local communities. It highlights the importance of collaboration between local authorities and community members in driving sustainable growth and prosperity.
