The Ministry of Justice Holds 2024 Activity Assessment Meeting and Outlines 2025 Plan

The Ministry of Justice recently conducted its 2024 activity assessment meeting and presented an outline of its plans for 2025. The event took place on 9 January at the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers Hall and was well-attended by various stakeholders in the legal sector.

Key attendees included heads of regional courts, judges, prosecutors, commanders, representatives of prisons and rehabilitation centers, and other relevant institutions. Reports from the courts, the Office of the Attorney General, and the legal services department were presented, along with the proposed programs for the upcoming year.

Minister of Justice, Ms. Fauzia Hashim, stressed the significance of such meetings in promoting communication and achieving set objectives. She highlighted the Ministry’s continuous efforts to enhance justice programs and ensure that the legal system is in harmony with the values, wisdom, and living conditions of society.

Minister Fauzia outlined several priority programs for 2025, including improving the Ministry’s activities, drafting and finalizing laws, optimizing human resources, increasing public participation, enriching programs, raising public awareness, and leveraging technology for advancements.

Participants praised the initiatives aimed at making the legal system more community-oriented and put forth various recommendations for consideration. Additionally, a seminar focusing on the geopolitical situation in the Horn of Africa was held during the event.
