Mbarara City FC has lodged a formal complaint with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and the Ugandan Premier League (UPL) against KCCA FC for allegedly fielding an ineligible player in their recent match on January 7th. The player in question is Gavin Kizito Mugweri, who reportedly had accumulated three yellow cards prior to the match, rendering him ineligible to participate. Despite this, Mugweri played the full 90 minutes in the match, which KCCA FC won 2-0.

Mbarara City FC has provided compelling evidence to support their claim, including screenshots, match reports, and video footage. If KCCA FC is found guilty of fielding an ineligible player, they could face severe sanctions, including the forfeiture of points from the match in question.

This incident has caused a stir in the Ugandan football community, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the matter. The integrity of the game is paramount, and it is essential that all teams adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the governing bodies.

Dennis Mabuka, a respected Kenyan journalist with 18 years of experience covering sports events, highlighted the seriousness of the situation in his report. Mabuka, who is currently a sports content creator with en.Africatopsports.com, emphasized the importance of fair play and upholding the integrity of the sport.

As the investigation unfolds, all eyes will be on FUFA and UPL to ensure that justice is served and that the rules of the game are upheld. The outcome of this case could have far-reaching consequences for both Mbarara City FC and KCCA FC, as well as the broader football community in Uganda. Stay tuned for updates as the story develops.
