Pope Francis recently addressed a group of nuns from the Union of St. Catherine of Siena of the Missionaries of the School, urging them to focus more on spreading the gospel and less on engaging in gossip. The pontiff, known for his candid remarks, warned the sisters against having “vinegar faces” and emphasized the importance of adopting a friendly and loving demeanor towards others.

During his address, Pope Francis expressed his disapproval of gossip and its detrimental effects, stating that “gossip kills, gossip poisons.” He encouraged the nuns to refrain from engaging in rumors and to cultivate a positive atmosphere within their community. Additionally, he advised them to avoid dialogue with the Devil, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a spiritual focus in their interactions.

Acknowledging the nuns’ dedication to their work at the school, the pope commended them for their efforts and urged them to be ambassadors of kindness, joy, and gratitude in their daily interactions. He emphasized the importance of treating each individual with respect and appreciation for their unique qualities.

While Pope Francis has faced criticism in the past for using derogatory language, particularly in relation to LGBTQ+ issues, he has also been known for his efforts to promote inclusivity and acceptance within the Catholic Church. Despite his occasional controversial remarks, the pontiff has consistently emphasized the importance of compassion, forgiveness, and understanding in his teachings.

Overall, Pope Francis’s message to the nuns serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding positive values and attitudes in all aspects of life. By focusing on spreading love, kindness, and the teachings of the gospel, individuals can contribute to creating a more harmonious and compassionate society.
